    About the book
In today’s complex world, it can be difficult to make decisions that align with our values. Invaluable fills an important gap in decision-making: of achieving clarity on our values and integrating them into our decisions consciously. You, dear reader, already have unique values waiting to be unpacked and articulated across diverse work contexts. Invaluable offers a holistic framework to aid its discovery, testing and succinct communication. This homage to values is brought out through stories, philosophy, poetry, citizen science and embedded podcasts. By the end of this book, you will have a deeper understanding of your singular values blueprint, making intentional decision-making an enriching process. You will also be inspired to live a life that is true to your values.

    About the author

Somik Raha grew up in India in a family where free-thinking was encouraged along with an engagement in deep conversations. Due to his family relocating multiple times across India, he was exposed to many different sub cultures and philosophies. He has lived and worked in the West for over two decades. Somik has been coding since he was 12 and enjoying Western and Eastern philosophers since he was 15. Enamored with Artificial Intelligence in his late teens, he got more interested in the humans behind the technology, and over the next two decades, engaged with the age-old prioritization question, “What should we focus on? How much should we invest in it?”

Somik has engaged with that question as an agile coach, a product leader, a decision analyst, and as a curious human being wondering what it all means. He has a Bachelors in Computer Science from Bangalore Institute of Technology and a Masters and PhD from the Dept of Management Science and Engineering at Stanford University. His dissertation was titled Achieving Clarity on Value, and this book is a continuation of his research. Somik lives with his wife and two children in the Bay Area, where he continues to explore the fascinating intersections between technology, philosophy, and the human experience.
